About AGI
Advanced Giga Inc. designs, fabricates, and deploys modular data center infrastructure for hyperscale operators. Our flagship products, the MDH (Modular Data Hall), MTCS (Modular Technology Cooling System), and MES (Modular Energy Server), are factory-built, tested, and commissioned before they ever leave our facility. We are not a general contractor. We are an engineering-led manufacturer that owns the full lifecycle: design, fabrication, controls integration, factory acceptance testing, delivery, and on-site commissioning.
We are a small, high-impact team where your decisions directly shape outcomes on programs worth tens of millions of dollars. If you have spent your career inside large organizations and are looking for a place where your experience actually gets used, not diluted across layers of bureaucracy, this is it.
The Role
AGI is hiring a Controls PLC Programming Engineer to help build the control code that runs our products. Every MDH, MTCS, and MES module ships with a control system AGI develops in-house: pump and valve control for liquid cooling loops, staging logic for heat rejection, power monitoring, alarm management, and the interfaces a hyperscale client’s BMS expects. You will implement sequences of operation from control narratives, build the HMI screens operators actually use, and stand behind your code through FAT.
Because our modules are built in multiples, your code is a product, not a project: structured, versioned, parameterized per module set, and written so the startup team can test it fast.
What You Will Actually Do
- Develop PLC code for module control systems from control narratives and P&IDs: sequences, permissives, interlocks, alarms, and failure handling
- Build and maintain HMI applications: overview graphics, trends, alarm screens, and operator workflows
- Implement redundancy and failure-mode logic (N+1 equipment staging, sensor voting, loss-of-communication behavior)
- Build and document integrations: Modbus/BACnet to packaged equipment, and the client-facing BMS/EPMS interface map
- Parameterize code across module sets so one tested code base deploys to many units with controlled configuration
- Maintain version control, change logs, and configuration records for every controller and HMI we ship
- Support FAT: run functional tests with the startup team, fix findings, and retest until sequences pass clean
- Simulate and bench-test logic before shop testing to protect the FAT schedule
- Write the controls documentation that ships with each module: point lists, sequence descriptions, and as-tested configuration
Who You Are
- 5+ years of PLC development on industrial or building systems, with at least one platform mastered (Siemens Tia Portal strongly preferred)
- HMI development experience (Ignition Perspective, Ignition Vision or equivalent)
- Able to take a control narrative and a P&ID and produce working, testable code without hand-holding
- Industrial protocol fluency: EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet
- Disciplined engineering practice: structured code, version control, change management, and documentation
- Field temperament: willing to stand at the panel during FAT and own what your code does
Preferred (Not Required)
- Data center or critical-facility controls experience (chilled water, CRAH/CDU, UPS/generator supervision)
- Ignition or SCADA platform depth; scripting (Python, structured text libraries)
- Functional safety / SIS exposure
- Panel design literacy (reading and red-lining panel drawings)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
What We Offer
- Performance bonus tied to program delivery milestones
- Direct impact on a high-growth company at the intersection of manufacturing and critical infrastructure
- Ownership of your domain: you set the processes, you build the relationships, you drive the outcomes
- A technical leadership team that speaks your language (engineering-led company, not sales-led)
To Apply
Fill out the form below, including a brief description of the most complex control system you have programmed (platform, I/O count, and what it controlled). Once submitted, please send your resume to info@advancedgiga.ai.
